The replacement for the Aston Martin DBS – which still doesn’t have a name but is being called Project AM 310 by Gaydon – is heading on a trailer to the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este on the shores of Lake Como for a world debut this weekend. Due to go on sale at the end of the summer, the AM 310 is, say Aston Martin, 75 per cent new.
Product design consultancy Priority Design's ‘Donkey Kong Derby Car' was the winner of the IDSA Launch Day 2013 competition, earning its team a brand-new 3D printer. The Launch Day competition, which took place at the Industrial Design Society of America conference on 24 August, asked for designs for a tiny 3D-printed car that could be launched down a miniature model of a ski jump before smashing into a crash site. Detroit's College for Creative Studies is among seven international design schools chosen for the final stage of the Ferrari World Design Contest. The competition started with 50 schools tasked to create the Ferrari of the future. The jury encountered a difficult selection process for stage two and raised the maximum number of finalists from six to seven.
